The Chigger has been accusing Congress of blocking drilling and construction and retooling of new refineries for fossil fuels. Here is a video of Lindsey Williams talking about the vast Alaskan oil reserves. He says there is enough oil in Alaska on the "NorthSlope" to cover the needs of the United States for more than 200 years, i.e. as much if not more oil than in Saudi Arabia. Author of six books, including The Energy Non-Crises, Williams demands that Congress do what it should do on behalf of the people it allegedly represents. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ A few days ago, I saw an Obama bumper sticker that said, "A Vote for Obama is a Vote for Change." It frightened me. When the Democratic Congress took control in 2006, that was their mantra, then. In 2006, we had: 1) Consumer confidence at a 2 1/2 year high; Nancy Peloski promised to get fuel prices down and she and the other government control freaks promised to "rescue our failed economy." This is the practise, in use, of slogan "History is made by those who write it." The actual situation is irrelevant. The only thing relevant to the goverment control freaks like Nancy is power. Any way history can be re-written to support their own proven, failed policies (big government, high taxes, stiff regulations on everything) is fair and just. Some of them are stilling calling rhe conflict in Iraq a "Civil War," " a lost war," "failed foreign policies." This is in the face of overwhelming successes of those things. Since the Democrats took control of Congress in 2006, a year and a half ago, we now have: 1) Consumer confidence plummeted; Now we have another government control freak, B. Hussein Obama who promises more changes. He promises to double to the capital gains tax, increase the income tax, higher taxes on fuel (to punish the oil companies for being successful in making a profit on their investments). He has promised that increasing costs of production to the oil companies will get prices down. What confusion. Every fool knows that if costs go up, prices have to go up, but not in Obama's upside down world. He also promises to regulate fire arm ownership more rigidly. No one really needs a hand gun do they? Of course, Obama is far more qualified than any other person to know what others "need," or how they should spend what money they have left after the government takes its cut. He promises "change." He'll give it to us too. Let's see what's going on now; The changes Obama wants to make regarding the illegals is to give them our Social Security Retirement. Some people are so "bought in" to his agenda, based on his pleasant manner and charismatic ways that they are actually changing their names to Hussein, making the statement that his Muslim name doesn't matter to them. These are probably the same people who use their bodies for tattoo graffiti boards, staple their faces to their heads with rivets and pierce their genitals and tongues with stainless steel decorations, to what end, I'll never understand. Neither will they, no more than they will understand why things go to hell faster and worse than ever, after we elect another Democratic Congress and President. When a politician says a vote for him is a vote for change, it's frightening. Check here to see when Obama made his "change." ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ What the Moon Bats and the Butt Monkeys in California who vote for Nancy Pelosi don't realize (yet) is that censorship is a double edged sword. If the government; Democrat, Republican, Libertine, or what ever can censor what is said on the radio, television or in newspapers, sooner or later, what those people want to say can also be censored. At the present time, it seems cool to the Socialist wannabe's to censor conservative talk radio using the so called "Fairness Doctrine." It's cool now because the people being censored are people they disagree with. Tomorrow it will be their turn. Allowing the government to exercise censorship rights over political debate and argument is a can of worms, even the worms themselves will come to hate. The ACLU uses similar arguments when supporting kiddie porn. There was a time when common sense ruled the interpretation of the laws. Porn is abusive to all concerned. Those who use it, desensitize themselves so that when sensitivity to sexual stimulation is wanted, normal stimulation is inadequate. The subjects of pornographic pictures demean themselves for money - a form of prostitution. Pornography involving children is a horrific abuse of the children. To the ACLU, that dosn't matter because they feel it's acceptable to kill children. What does it matter if they're exploited sexually first?

The anger over Pelosi's Treason against her country is growing. Why the Justice Department ignores the treasonous activities of the Feddling Democrats insinuates that it is complicit. The ramifications of such a reality are staggering. Either the Justice Department is afraid to do its job or there is a less obvious reason. It seems to be in vogue to no longer enforce the laws of the land. Our structures are crumbling and the law enforced capriciously. I have some Latvian friends who had to go back to Latvia because their visa had expired. Illegal Mexicans with no visa don't have to leave. Since they are illegally registered to vote, they might be prevailed upon to vote for the Feddling Socialists who wish to give them our Social Security Retirement, Medicare, free education and health care. There is a presidential election coming up. Less promoted and advertised is the election for Congressmen both in the House and Senate. It's time to kick them out - all of 'em. It's time for term limits. Everyone knows power currupts. More than two terms corrupts absolutely. Just look at Kerry, Kennedy and Murtha. Since, according to the New York Times and a plethora of Socialist weenies in the U.S.A. there were no Weapons of Mass Destruction, then the refined uranium and the nuclear facility did not exist. That the Muslim Scholars (speaking of oxymrons) object to the alleged "theft" of this fictional material leads this writer to believe that their scholarship is mythical as well. Despite what John Kerry believes, history is not made by those who make it up. Creating reality by pronouncement can only be done by God and we certainly hope that in spite of John's beliefs about himself, he is not God. Neither is Barack, Hillary or Ted. The smoking gun has been found in Iraq. Sadam DID have a nuclear program. Next, we must look to Iran. Should we allow Iran to have its Yellow Cake and eat it too? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Alaska's oil is legendary. Now there are new legends. Colorado's shale oil will become legendary when Congress gets off its collective partisanship butt and permits the U.S.A. to tap its own resources instead of forcing us to buy those resources from enemy nations. Government's infinite meddlesomeness has driven up the price of oil and brought most Americans to their knees. With this much anguish, it's foolishness to think that the high oil prices can be blamed on the president. Congress has been blocking exploration and drilling for decades and finally their goal is nearly achieved. That goal appears to be national control of the oil industry. If that happens, high prices will be a certainty. Bureaucratic business acumen has an historical reputation for inefficiency, ineptitude and waste. It also has an historical reputation for an overwhelming hunger for power. Permitting drilling on Alaska's north slope, allowing the harvesting of shale oil, drilling in ANWR, in the Gulf of Mexico, where the Chinese are drilling, just might impact the prices of fuel. Certainly we need alternative resources, but we need the time to develop them. Less government feddling always results ina more productive market. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Earth is Both Warming and Cooling
The Earth’s Growing (or not growing) Fever. (Red Bug) Before I get into this, I want to make a small point. I am not siding with either the warming or the cooling camps. I am raising questions. I had a conversation with an old buddy last week who believes that the climate is changing globally, that the Earth is warming and that the activities of humans is exacerbating that change. Evidence he offers is a grove of palm trees on the West Coast of Florida that has died because, as Bill H. puts it, the sea level has risen “in my life time.” He further postulates that the sea level is rising because of the melting ice caps in the Arctic and the Antarctic. That the sea level is rising is not disputable. In the last four hundred years, the sea has allegedly risen about 3 feet in the area of St. Augustine Florida as evidenced by the submersion of all the lands where Fort Mose once stood, or so they say. On the other hand, part of Anastasia Island, right across the river from Fort Mose, has risen considerably. The old Spanish maps show the area of land lying east of the original inlet as a series of small islands with the St. Augustine Inlet entering the bay from the south, to the west of those small islands. That is now a solid landmass running from the north end of Anastasia Island, north to the St. Augustine Inlet. It appears to have risen, maybe six feet or more, only about two miles east of Fort Mose, which appears to have sunk. The fly in the ointment of these arguments is this. Florida’s coast is not made of granite. It is sand. Sand along any coastline shifts and changes. It washes in and it washes out. The only thing constant about it is change. The Matanzas Inlet (about seventeen miles south of the St. Augustine Inlet) has shifted to the south almost half a mile since the slaughter of the French troops by Pedro Menendez in 1565. In this part of Florida, inlets migrate to the south. That is part of the ongoing change in the shape of the coastline. It is quite possible that Fort Mose is now under water because the land has washed away, rather than because of the rising sea level. The north end of Anastasia Island has risen because of a build up of land due to the action of the wind and the tides, not because the sea level across the river from Fort Mose is falling. It’s pretty easy to assume that the sea level has been rising for tens of thousands of years, especially in view of the fact that the ruins of cities have been found off the west end of Cuba at a depth of over 2200 feet. On the other hand, those cities could have been sunk as a result of didactic Earth changes other than the rise or fall of the sea level. The point is that no one knows for sure. It’s all speculation. “Scientists” come up with a hypothesis then find “statistical evidence” to support their hypothesis. That’s how “scientists” make a name for themselves. Their names get bigger if they can find a few other scientists to agree with them. The death of the palm trees is evidently a result of saltwater intrusion. There are other factors that could have contributed to the deaths of those trees and to the saltwater intrusion, other than the rising sea level. For example, it is well known that when droughts occur in Florida, the non-salty ground water recedes from the sea and is replaced by salt water from the ocean. The water level remains the same, but when there is not enough fresh water coming from the land, the ground water becomes salty. It gets pushed further in shore by the seawater. The seawater intrudes on the ground water. In recent decades, the use of fresh water in Florida by farms and residential development has increased dramatically. Rivers have been dammed for recreation resulting in a decreased flow of fresh water downstream. The decreased flow of fresh water always results in an intrusion of salt water replacing the fresh water that is no longer there. It’s very possible that the death of those palm trees is a result of that, and not the result of rising sea level. A contributing factor could well be the alteration of the tidal flows in that area from dredging and bridge building, resulting in less freshwater flowing from inland. An example of that is where U.S. #1 crosses Spruce Creek, a few miles south of Daytona Beach. Before that bridge was built, Spruce Creek was deep and clear, but the current in the creek was not very strong. When the bridge was built, the pylons supporting the bridge interfered with that weak current. The result was that over a few decades that area of Spruce Creek that was once deep and clear became filled with silt and mud. A heroic partnership was engineered by a representative of the St. Johns River Water Management District. That partnership of the Water Management District and the Florida Department of Transportation rebuilt that bridge over Spruce Creek to restore the original flow. Spruce Creek will eventually recover from the ecological disaster it experienced when the U.S. #1 bridge was first put there. The palm trees whose deaths Bill H. laments as the result of rising sea levels, could well be the result of a similar screw up committed in pure innocent ignorance, just as the bridge over Spruce Creek fouled up the water there. Items that make me suspicious of the global warming frenzy is that there is so much conflicting data. For example, NASA now begrudgingly admits that the hottest year in the lower 48 states was not 1998 as was announced with 99% confidence. The hottest year was, according to them NOW was 1934. Six of the hottest years after 1880 were before 1954. The Wall Street Journal reports in its July 1, 2008 issue that 3,000 scientific robots in the world’s oceans report a slight cooling in the last 5 years, “never mind that 80%-90% of global warming involves heating up ocean waters,” according to a report from National Public Radio’s Richard Harris. The Journal goes on to say that although The Arctic Ice Cap may be thinning, the extent of Antarctic sea ice has been expanding for years. While Al Gore touts global warming, makes movies and wins prizes, life goes on. Al is making a lot of money on his Green investments as the U.K. requires the disclosure of the scientific goof ups in “An Inconvenient Truth” before showing it to children in public schools. If and when it is finally proven that the Earth is actually cooling, not warming, Al is going to look even more foolish than he already does, a regular Ham for All Seasons. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

WERE HIS GRANDPARENTS RICH? HE LIVES IN A $1.4 MILLION HOUSE OBTAINED THROUGH A DEAL WITH A WEALTHY FUNDRAISER. HOW? HE 'WORKED' AS A CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST IN CHICAGO. HE HAS NEVER HELD A PRODUCTIVE JOB OR RECEIVED A PAY CHECK THAT WAS NOT GOVERNMENT-FUNDED AND/OR TAYPAYER SUPPORTED. THE FUTURE IS IN OUR VOTING HANDS. +++++++++++++++++++++++++ Feddling (Governmental Meddling) "Feddling" is a coined word from the combination of "infinite" and "meddling." When will governments learn the truth of the old saying that the problem with government is its infinite propensity for "meddling?" The meddling of government has always been a bain to mankind. FDR's meddling with the free market held the Great Depression in place for ten years longer than necessary. With price caps and wage caps limiting supply of everything, food lines began forming. Gasoline rationing became a reality as it may again with the government still meddling in the affairs of the free. Liberals are most blatant Feddlers, being enslaved to the idea that only they have the intelligence to tell others how to live. Only they can FIX the mortgage market, by dragging it out with tax payers paying the banks for their embezzling (mortgage and Appraisal Fraud) and predatory lending. Now there is an "oversupply" of mustangs in Nevada, so instead of allowing the people who live there to catch the horses and sell them for meat and other things, the government is setting out on a euthanasia program to waste that resource. For this free people to prosper and survive, we need to get the Feddlers out of the free market. Nancy Pelosi's Feddling with the Salmon Fishermen is great for the Salmon fishermen but what I don't understand is why she wants to redistribute wealth to them. Maybe The Chigger needs to circulate a petition against Feddling. +++++++++++++++++++++++++ Rose and Milton Friedman Senior Fellow An Old Newness Many years ago, a great hitter named Paul Waner was nearing the end of his long career. He entered a ballgame with 2,999 hits -- one hit away from the landmark total of 3,000, which so many hitters want to reach, but which relatively few actually do reach. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ There's a movement afoot to go to the smaller facility. In many of today's nursing homes, the urgency to make a buck is far more important than providing care for its residents. Understaffing is a major transgression. It's common practise, despite state monitoring to keep such a short staff that on duty nurses don't have the time to do the medication distribution. The nurses deal with that by doing only one "med pass" instead of distributing the medicine two or three times during a shift. In that one distribution, they administer all the medicine at once that is supposed to be distributed to the patient over the course of eight or ten hours. There have been many complaints by nurses to their professional organizations and state enforcement authorities with little or no result. In the smaller facilities of 10 to 12 residents, this problem should be reduced. More personal care can be provided than in a home with 200 to 300 residents. This seems like a better solution to "geriatric warehousing" than what we are doing now. I for one do not like the mental image I get of sitting in a wheel chair at the age of 85, in a long hallway and being called "sweety" by some waddling obesity. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ A woman went to a pet shop & immediately spotted a large, beautiful parrot..
There was a sign on the cage that said $50.00.
'Why so little?' she asked the pet store owner.
The owner looked at her and said, 'Look, I should tell you first that this bird used to live in a house of prostitution and sometimes it says some pretty vulgar stuff.'
The woman thought about this, but decided she had to have the bird any way. She took it home and hung the bird's cage up in her living room and waited for it to say something.
The bird looked around the room, then at her, and said, 'New house, new madam.'
The woman was a bit shocked at the implication, but then thought 'that's really not so bad.'
When her 2 teenage daughters returned from school the bird saw and said, 'New house, new madam, new girls.'
The girls and the woman were a bit offended but then began to laugh about the situation considering how and where the parrot had been raised.
Moments later, the woman's husband Keith came home from work.
The bird looked at him and said,
