| Goals of the American Democratic Party: This is a sweeping subject so I’m going to focus on one aspect for the time being; gasoline and fuel. In recent years the liberals have consistently blocked applications for new refineries in the United States. When legislation has been introduced to simplify the application process for new refineries, the liberals have blocked that too. They have also blocked new drilling and exploration for new oil repositories. Their claim is that new refineries and additional drilling will harm the environment. The news media has supported these activities with a plethora of nonsense about global warming. Not one word has been mentioned in the mainstream media about the environmental disasters in China, India, the Ukraine, Russia, England or other places, where the devastation is far worse than in the U.S.A. I’ve often wondered what the real agenda is. At the present time, the largest gasoline refinery on the planet is being constructed in Jamnagar India. This refinery is supposed to so big that it will supply 5% of the world’s gasoline needs. It has towering chimneys that will burn off excess gases, releasing the affluent into the atmosphere. There’s not much mention of that anywhere in the green enthusiasts’ litany of wailing. So what is the real agenda? Environmental controls limit the rights of use to the landowner. Could it be that this hubbub is all about government control, power, a gradual end of private property ownership, as Roger Baldwin wanted? The processes they’ve been following are certainly leading to that. How are they doing it? In recent history, the liberals/Baldwinians have limited the supply, driving up costs of fuel. Even after Nancy Pelosi’s promise of sensibly reducing fuel prices that got her elected in California, prices have soared because of her policies. Her latest gambit? The Congress of the United States last week, according to Jim Quinn, changed the designation of Canada’s Oil Sands oil, formerly providing over a million barrels of crude daily to the U.S.A. markets to “Alternative Fuel.” The decision is that it contains too much carbon and cannot be used in the United States. Our supply here has been reduced again, driving prices even higher. The most amusing aspect of this circus is that the Democrats who actually did this have the cheek to blame the fiasco on George Bush who, they say, is lining the pockets of his “rich oil buddies.” ++++++++++++++++++ Bill Clinton, as it turns out is even sleazier than I always thought he was. In an article in The Wall Street Journal it is stated that the Clinton Foundation, ostensibly with the purpose of supporting his presidential library, has raised in the neighborhood of half a BILLION dollars. The money has come from special interest groups who apparently hope to influence the new Mrs. President Bill, or Miss Speak, however you want to address her, if and when she gets elected. The special interest donors who have been identified are people like -William Brandt Jr, a Chicago bankruptcy lawyer who donated $1,000,000 at the time he was being investigated for lying about a Clinton fund raising event. Clinton cleared him of the charges. -Bernard Schwartz, then CEO Loral Space and Communications at the same time the firm was being investigated for improperly sending technology to China. Loral paid a $14,000,000 fine under the Bush administration. -Next Wave pledged $1,000,000 while waiting to see if the Clinton FCC would allow them to keep their cellular licenses. Next Wave didn't get its licenses and defaulted on the promised money. -Denise Rich donated $450,000 while she was waiting for her fugitive husband Marc Rich to be pardoned. The donation was followed by a Clinton pardon. Presidential candidates are not permitted to accept campaign donations from foreigners, but donations to foundations are permitted. Donations have come to Clinton's foundation from the Saudi Royal Family, the King of Morocco and the governments of Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE and Brunei. Much has come from wealthy Middle Eastern businessmen. Donations have come from huge Chinese interests, Alibaba for one. Alibaba helps the Chinese government censor the world wide web. It has posted a "most wanted list for Tibetan demonstrators with pictures and contact numbers to turn them in. Miss Speak has denounced the human rights violations of China in Tibet, but Bill has not returned the money. Bill's list of corrupt associations is endless ++++++++++++++++++ Al Gore consistently makes a big footprint, whether it's in carbon or baloney. His Inconvenient Truth is so full of scientific error the schools in the United Kingdom are required to give a disclosure statement about them before showing the movie to children. Whether it's his "Al Gore Interstate Highway System" that Dwight Eisenhower instigated or his invention of the Internet, Al's $30,000 power bill in Nashville flies in the face of his admonitions to everyone else about how they should live. This is very supportive of Jim Quinn's assertion that environmentalism isn't about the environment. It's about government control of private property and the encroachment of socialism +++++++++++++ Freedom is a tricky concept. The word is slung around by all sorts of sleazy politicians today. They sell it wrapped in a cushion of charisma and charm as though it were no more than a slogan to be used in a stump speech. The idea that freedom isn't free usually brings to mind the soldier who fought for American freedoms, but the concept goes way beyond that. The soldier paid in blood for an ideology that stands in dire jeopardy everyday that it's accepted as a bought and paid for thing. The soldier's life made one payment. The cost of Freedom is never paid up. Everyone must pay by continuing the fight. The fee for not getting involved in politics is being ruled by your inferiors. Ignore your rights and they'll go away. Freedom has to be fought for everyday. We fight by voting. We fight by speaking out. We fight by refusing to be ruled by such idiotic concepts as "Political Correctness." Acquiescing to this tyranny over the tongue is a first step in giving up the freedom of speech and that is the beginning of the end of freedom. Keeping one's mouth shut in the face of encroaching tyranny, which is what Socialism is, trashes the gift of freedom so dearly paid for. We who are not soldiers can still be Culture Warriors . We fight by not giving in. Don't give in. At The Chigger, the battle is heating up. Don't forget to participate by signing and circulating our Petitions. ++++++++++++++ The Amero is proposed to replace the Dollar

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BOY SCOUT STORY
ACLU President busted for kiddie porn: At least we now know the real reason why Charles Rust - Tierney argued for the freedom of children to access pornography in libraries. It wasn't an ideological position. It was a position from the Kama Sutra. Bill O'Reilly posted a video of the news report from February 2007. This is worth watching and it certainly clarifies the position from the ACLU on freedom of sexual obsession imposed upon children. The founder, Roger Baldwin's initial statement of goals of the ACLU were eventually followed by a detailed list of objectives to obtain Baldwin's goals. The following statement from the American Communist Party from 1963 outlines what they had in mind. In retrospect, they've done a pretty good job of it. If you haven't signed and forwarded our ACLU petition you may want to consider it now. The following is from an email to the Chigger we received last week. I came across something recently that I found utterly
amazing. It was a list of goals that had been penned by
the American Communist Party in 1963. A Florida
congresswoman received a copy of the list, had it vetted
and then entered it into the Congressional Record that
same year. 6. Present homosexuality and promiscuity as normal and The ACLU petition demands that legislation be enacted to prevent organizations listed as Subversive by Homeland Security be denied access to the American court system. It may not be feasible to actually enforce something like that, but it could be possible to deny access to the court systems for third party litigation. The ACLU has used this idea successfully for a long time; suing on behalf of others - third party litigation. Click here for the ACLU petition. Just copy it to an outgoing email, sign it and send it off. There are links on the petition itself to The Chigger and to the original articles published here. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This past week, the Democratic Congress passed legislation requiring that every HSA transaction be reviewed and verified as a legitimate medical expense. The Health Savings Account concept encourages a style of medical insurance that is affordable to most workers. If the employer provides a low cost, high deductible major medical policy, the employee can make up the difference with a tax deductible health savings account. This new layer of bureaucracy adds to the cost making such plans less affordable. Of course, without the added governmental interference, the employee might use some of the savings for non-medical expenses and get away with it. What the Democrats fear is that a person might use their own money for their own pleasure without paying federal income tax on it. What a dreadful thought! Central to the enactment of this new legislation is Pete Stark, the head of the House Ways and Means Health Subcommittee crusades to establish government controlled health care. His work is consistent with the move toward Socialism. His credits include numerous moves against private enterprise. His Paid Family and Medical Leave Legislation places a burden on business that could preclude even having the employee, much less providing such sweeping benefits. Extending unemployment benefits places the burden of joblessness on the tax payer and discourages those who are out of work from finding new jobs. If a person has 6 months or more of unemployment pay coming, the tendency is to enjoy it for a few months - go fishing - stretch out on the beach if one is nearby. The HSA concept was created near the end of 2003. Since then, 3.2 million accounts have been opened. That covers 4.5 million Americans. Nearly a third of them previously had no insurance. Another third are small businesses that had never before offered health care to their employees. One would think with all the prattle from the Dems about the need for wider spread health care that they would welcome figures like these. But there's a problem with all this. The problem is, there is no government control. It's a free market solution. Free Markets are anathema to the Socialist. Evidently, since the Dems lost the argument in 2003 when the HSA's were created, they are now going to try to kill them with regulation. ++++++++++++++++++++++++ During this election cycle I'm reminded of the time that 4
year old Jennifer, one of Matt's friends, told me that she
wanted to be President one day. Contributed by Robert Medvesky ( If a four year old can get it, why can't grown up, well educated Democrats get it?) +++++++++++++++++++++++++ Why is there yet another property Tax Revolt? This time it's in Arizona. Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano has devised an ingenious plan to answer the problems posed by the "housing crisis." The Wall Street Journal reports housing prices in Arizona are down 17% with a record number of foreclosures. Her answer is the only answer a Democrat could possibly come up with; raise taxes. She vetoed a bill to make Arizona's two year property tax suspension permanent. Arizona is not alone in this nut-case answer. Fairfax County in Virginia, Washington State, Chicago and Memphis have announced similar plans. At a time when homeowners are faced with barely being able to meet the cost of their housing, government is plotting to make matters worse. Tax hikes at a time like this could push hundreds of thousands more homeowners over the brink of foreclosure. The Center for Business and Economic Research reports that property tax increases without improved public services results in a loss of value to the home. They say an increase in taxes of $200 results in a loss of value ranging from $1,200 to $1,800. In many communities today, because of the residential housing bubble, tax assessments have become so high that the tax exceeds market rent. That is to say that a rental unit can't be rented for enough to cover the taxes in some places, much less, taxes, mortgage, insurance, upkeep and reserve for replacement. Forget about profit. Governments live well on the backs of minimum wage earners. Maybe Arizona could consider cutting some of the fat out of its state and local budgets? I'm again reminded of a friend of mine who went to work for the local government. She came to me a week or two after she started the job laughing that half the people she worked with had nothing to do. They spend their time trying to look busy and hiding. I had the same experience with my employment hitch with the State of Florida. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ NAFTA is part of a larger fiasco permitted by the United Congress and the American people. Presidents of the United States need Congressional approval to enter into "treaties." They don't Congressional approval to enter into "agreements." The North American Free Trade Agreement has been lauded or attacked by the current presidential candidates, depending on who they think is listening. Hillary is for and against it. Both want to renegotiate it. What we need is to take away this unlimited right of Presidents to freely enter into such things. Some pundits say NAFTA has generated a lot of jobs, especially in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. A lot of things are being ignored in those observations. The Florida Orange Grower.,for one. Mexican Orange Juice has displaced millions of gallons that used to come from Florida. Jobs have been lost. Farms have been hammered with the influx from south of the boarder. Avocado farmers in California are now growing other things because Mexico has flooded our land with Mexican Avocados. The avocado used to be a big crop in California, but not any more. The concern about the introduction of insects to California kept Mexican avocados out of the United States for 80 years. Now the ban has been lifted. Not only has the Mexican Fruit Fly been given a passport to California, they are being delivered by Mexican trucks. There are problems associated with that too. The Mexican truckers don't have to comply with United States laws. The trucks don't have to pass U.S. inspections like U.S. trucks have to do. The drivers lack the training and according to American truckers are sometimes, not even licensed. There have been reports of up to five Mexicans driving cross country in the USA with one license between them. A heated argument from American truckers is competitive pay. They say the Mexican truckers can drive cross country in the United States for a remuneration of only $.17 per mile. American truckers make from $.30 to $.50 per mile. This undercuts the pay of the Americans and places an unfair advantage on the side of Mexican competitors. Other inequities with NAFTA include limits on what can be exported. Canada will allow imports from the United States of anything that is not produced in Canada. One cannot import potatoes to Canada. Blue Berries are also produced in Canada and cannot be imported there. On the other hand, the United States produces oranges and avocados, but that doesn't seem to matter. Mexico brings those commodities to the U.S. unfettered by such tedious regulations. While NAFTA has been a nuisance to some, there are other trade agreements that bypassed Congressional approval that are even more alarming. The Security Prosperity Partnership between Canada, the United States and Mexico is very alarming! Many have armed themselves with pens and blogs about this . There is a lot of rumor about the SPP, and there have been a lot of protests. Much of the rumor accuses our last three presidents of conspiracy to make all three nations into one. The trans-national highway now under construction from Mexico to Canada with Customs at Kansas City is under construction as I write this. That is not just a rumor. The new currency, The Amero, and the end to the United States' dollar is yet in the future. While the United States President and the leaders of Canada and Mexico have their secret meetings this past week, we wondered if the SPP was the main topic of conversation. No one in Canada or the United States wants such a partnership. In the United States, this Presidential AGREEMENT could well result in the elimination of fire arms ownership as a tenet of the international contract. Our Bill of Rights could be short circuited in numerous other ways as well. We need to pay close attention to this. And we need to stop our American Presidents from being able to make international agreements that by-pass Congress. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ |
A man whose family was German aristocracy prior to World
War II owned a number of large industries and estates. ++++++++++++++++ Scientist: Earth Cooling, Not Warming A San Francisco-based scientist says that current solar activity strongly indicates that the earth is on the verge of a new ice age. "Sorry to ruin the fun, but an ice age cometh," warns Phil Chapman writing in The Australian. Chapman is a geophysicist and astronautical engineer who was the first Australian to become a NASA astronaut. "The scariest photo I have seen . . . is at www.spaceweather.com, where you will find a real-time image of the sun from the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory [SOHO], located in deep space at the equilibrium point between solar and terrestrial gravity," Chapman wrote, adding ominously that "what is scary about the picture is that there is only one tiny sunspot." "This is where SOHO comes in," he explained. "The sunspot number follows a cycle of somewhat variable length, averaging 11 years. The most recent minimum was in March last year. The new cycle, No. 24, was supposed to start soon after that, with a gradual build-up in sunspot numbers." That, he writes did not happen. "The first sunspot appeared in January this year and lasted only two days. A tiny spot appeared last Monday but vanished within 24 hours. Another little spot appeared this Monday. Pray that there will be many more, and soon." Why? According to Chapman "there is a close correlation between variations in the sunspot cycle and earth's climate. The previous time a cycle was delayed like this was in the Dalton Minimum, an especially cold period that lasted several decades from 1790. Northern winters became ferocious: in particular, the rout of Napoleon's Grand Army during the retreat from Moscow in 1812 was at least partly due to the lack of sunspots." Although the rapid temperature decline in 2007 coincided with the failure of cycle No. 24 to begin on schedule is not proof of a causal connection, Chapman warns that it is cause for concern. "Disconcerting as it may be to true believers in global warming," he explains, "the average temperature on earth has remained steady or slowly declined during the past decade, despite the continued increase in the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide, and now the global temperature is falling precipitously. "All four agencies that track earth's temperature [the Hadley Climate Research Unit in Britain, the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York, the Christy group at the University of Alabama, and Remote Sensing Systems Inc in California] report that it cooled by about 0.7 C in 2007." This, he says is "the fastest temperature change in the instrumental record and it puts us back where we were in 1930. If the temperature does not soon recover, we will have to conclude that global warming is over." Moreover, he says, there is also plenty of anecdotal evidence that 2007 was exceptionally cold, noting that it snowed in Baghdad for the first time in centuries, the winter in China was simply terrible and the extent of Antarctic sea ice in the austral winter was the greatest on record since James Cook discovered the place in 1770. Chapman wrote that the global warming dogma should be put aside, "at least to begin contingency planning about what to do if we are moving into another little ice age, similar to the one that lasted from 1100 to 1850." How bad could a new little ice age be? "Much worse than the previous one and much more harmful than anything warming may do. There are many more people now, and we have become dependent on a few temperate agricultural areas, especially in the U.S. and Canada." Global warming, he added, "would increase agricultural output, but global cooling will decrease it. Millions will starve if we do nothing to prepare for it [such as planning changes in agriculture to compensate], and millions more will die from cold-related diseases." And grim as that outlook is, Chapman predicts that there is also another possibility, remote but much more serious — the Greenland and Antarctic ice cores and other evidence show that for the past several million years, severe glaciation has almost always afflicted our planet and under normal conditions, most of North America and Europe are buried under about 1.5 km of ice. This bitterly frigid climate is interrupted occasionally by brief warm interglacials, typically lasting less than 10,000 years. The present interglacial period we have enjoyed throughout recorded human history, called the Holocene, began 11,000 years ago, so an ice age is overdue. And glaciation can occur quickly: The required decline in global temperature is about 12 C and it can happen in 20 years. His conclusions: "The next descent into an ice age is inevitable but may not happen for another 1,000 years. On the other hand, it must be noted that the cooling in 2007 was even faster than in typical glacial transitions. If it continued for 20 years, the temperature would be 14 C cooler in 2027." By then, he writes, "most of the advanced nations would have ceased to exist, vanishing under the ice, and the rest of the world would be faced with a catastrophe beyond imagining." "All those urging action to curb global warming need to take off the blinders and give some thought to what we should do if we are facing global cooling instead," he writes. "It will be difficult for people to face the truth when their reputations, careers, government grants or hopes for social change depend on global warming, but the fate of civilization may be at stake." This e-mail was sent by: ++++++++++++ Once upon a time, it was possible to be executed as a result of being accused of thought crimes. Admission was guilt. Denial was guilt. The accusation was enough. Today, defending someone accused of thought crimes can be punishable with prison and fines. They aren't executing us yet, except in Muslim countries, for thought crimes. What thought crimes? In many civilized countries, i.e., non-muslim countries, the idea is referred to as "political correctness." In the USA, thought crimes are manifested by "hate speech." There is still freedom of speech, as long as it isn't too hateful and isn't against muslims. I didn't capitalize the word, by the way because I have to regard it as a "common" noun. And that is not "hate speech." It's "contempt speech." +++++++++++++++++++++
